Christmas has come early here at Saizen with a double dose of Yawara for your holiday entertainment. And don’t let these ladies put you off with their disdainful looks in your direction, we give you permission to watch as many episodes of anime as you can fit into your Chrimbo fun.
On another note, today would have been the birthday of our much-missed amigo, ConsiderPhlebas, who was instrumental in our subbing of Yawara, on top of many many other projects. So as you enjoy the festivities of the season with lots of food and alcohol (or however you do your celebrations, we don’t judge), please raise a glass or turkey leg or just a thumbs-up to a guy who helped bring so much fansubbed anime to the English-speaking world that we wouldn’t otherwise have been able to watch.
Oh, don’t forget, this is a joint with our friends over at Live-eviL.
So it looks like my definition of “shortly” was a little longer than planned. But here’s the long-awaited Part 2 of this Lupin the Third special focusing on Goemon. Will he be able to recover from the brutal defeat he suffered at the hands of the Ghost of Bermuda in the first part? Expect plenty of blood, gore and cussing this time around as Goemon goes toe-to-toe with Hawk once more to avenge his fallen boss. Oh, and Lupin, Jigen, Fujiko and Zenigata make an appearance too.
Thanks to everyone who made this special possible, from Saizen and beyond. Hopefully this won’t be our last dip into the Lupin franchise because we have more than one fanboy in the group. Watch this space.
Bet you weren’t expecting this to join our roster of shows, but when we here at Saizen found out that the most recent Lupin special had gone for over a year without any proper subs (i.e. that weren’t fed through Google Translate), we knew that this was one injustice that had to be righted as soon as possible. At roughly the same time, the enigmatic figure of Jing reappeared on the horizon and threw us some stuff that Underwater had already done on this special – so we took those materials and ran with them, getting them into a releasable state. So in addition to the work Saizen did on this, we owe a lot to the contributions of bluesun, joletb and conkerer. Thanks, guys!
Part 2 should be along… shortly. Because I know everyone will want to watch it when they’ve seen this part.
