  1. The Beast Saga team is gonna do some one shots after ep 38. We have an OVA and Buddha Movie 2 lined up. We’re open to recommendations for a series. Also, if anyone has a Docomo account or Beast Saga 39+ raws, contact us.

  2. Kuroiryuu, if you’re looking for suggestions for TV Series:

    1) eGeGe no Kitarou 2007 TV Series

    2) the 2nd Half of the 2001 Cyborg 009 TV Series (1st half is subbed).

    3) Ginga Nagareboshi Gin

  3. 1) Too many episodes.

    2) Licensing is fuzzy on that. Might still be licensed by Sony in America. Would love to do it though.

    3) Maybe. anime_fin may have done a bad job, but at least it’s subbed? Not sure we wanna redo something that’s already been done, even if the subs are awful.

The Beast Saga Team welcomes any and all suggestions though. So suggest away, leechers! Do it on the DVD/BD Requests page though. We don’t wanna go too off topic in the comments of other series. Just tag it @BeastSagaTeam or #BeastSagaTeam or something, and someone on the team will respond.

  4. Kuroiryuu, regarding Cyborg 009, it’s been over 10 years since the 1st half of the series was released in North America. The 2nd half of the series never got released outside of Japan. Sony’s lawyers are not gonna waste their time going after fansubbers or suing over such a minor issue. I just don’t see Sony of America caring enough to make a fuss about it.

Sony never made the 2nd half available in North America, so if anything, they caused that problem for those who wanted to see it. Had they made it available in the first place, no one would want be asking for it to be subbed now.

  5. For what it’s worth, apparently the current fansubs for ‘Ginga Nagareboshi Gin’ (also known as ‘Silver Fang’) get even worse, by having l33t speak and have stupid jokes shoehorned in and occassionaly have untranslated lines, a few episodes in. And having seen part of the first ep’s subs myself – which was before that point, yeesh… Official Swedish and Finnish subtitles exist, but I don’t know how good/bad and useful/useless they are for translation purposes (of course, with translation checking against Japanese afterwards).

An interesting show that I’ve been wanting to watch but couldn’t manage to find anything resembling half-decent subtitles for – and might interest those who like Beast Saga – is Sunrise’s ‘Wild Knights Gulkeeva’. All subtitles I could find for that (in multiple languages) seem to be based on terrible HK quality bootleg subtitles.

At any rate, whatever you guys decide to sub and not sub, thanks for your efforts on all the awesome anime. Stay awesome. 🙂
